Join us for our 4th annual gingerbread house-decorating extravaganza on December 10th from 4-6pm! This has quickly become a beloved tradition at Beacon, and we hope you’ll join us in the fun! Free and open to all, supplies provided. [All children under 5 years old must be supervised by an adult for the entire program.]

For more information, call Rebecca at 267 702 0804.

Join us in worship on Christmas Eve:

Wednesday, December 24th, at 6pm

The holiday season can be a complicated one—stress, grief, excitement, joy, and so many other experiences come into our lives in a uniquely powerful way. We hope that in the midst of that, you will join us to hear and tell the story that speaks life and light into all of life’s complications: the story of God becoming human in the person of Jesus Christ. Join us to share this story of a young couple who find themselves far from home, welcoming the birth of the Son of God. Join us to seek the many ways our stories are connected to this particular story.

All are welcome to this service of stories and songs. We hope to see you there—it won’t be the same without you!

Stories from the Studio…

Instagram - fun found poems from today's Drop In Studio @thewordatbeacon

Last month during our Drop In Studio, we created “found” poems by taking a sheet of text, picking out words that jumped out to us, circling those words, and connecting them with doodles or paint to make an original poem. The end results were funny, thoughtful, and beautiful.

What Parents Need to Know:

Studio Schedule:

Mondays 4-6pm: Drop In Studio (youth ages 11+)

Tuesdays 4-6pm: Story Studio (children ages 5+)

Wednesdays 4-6pm: Art Studio (children ages 5+)

The Studio will be closed December 22nd through the 24th and the 29th through the 31st for the holidays. Our schedule will be back to normal on Monday January 5th.

Don’t forget: all our programs follow the Philadelphia public school system in terms of closings, and are free, secular (non-religious), open to all, and include a healthy snack.
