Facing God (from Psalm 13)
(Remain muted and read liturgy aloud at home)
Leader: How long, O Lord? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me?
All: How long must I bear pain in my soul, and have sorrow in my heart all day long?
Leader: Consider me and answer me, O Lord my God! Give light to my eyes.
All: I trust in your steadfast love; my heart shall rejoice in your salvation.
Leader: I will sing to the Lord, because God has dealt bountifully with me. Let us worship God.
What Joy
You made the heavens and the earth
The sea and all that is in them
Your promises remain
You give justice to the weak
You care for the widow and orphan
Forever Lord You reign
Chorus (2x):
What joy, what joy
For those whose hope is in
The name of the Lord
What peace, what peace
For those whose confidence
Is God alone
You make the blinded eye to see
And cherish those who seek Your face
Your faithful love endures
You came to let the slave go free
You cause the sinner to sing praise
In You we are secure
Chorus 2x
Hallelujah (x4)
Hallelujah forever we will sing
Hallelujah praises to the King
Hallelujah forever we will sing
Hallelujah praises to the King
Chorus 2x
Prayer of Confession & Assurance
(Remain muted and read liturgy aloud at home)
All: Merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against you by what we have done and what we have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart, mind, and strength. We have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. Forgive what we have been, help us amend what we are, and direct what we shall be, so that we may delight in your will and walk in your ways to the glory of your name. Amen.
Leader: The Good News is that Christ has come and Christ will come again.
All: In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven. Thanks be to God.
The Lord Thy God in the Midst of Thee
Refrain based on Zephaniah 3:17
The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty, is mighty
God will sing and rejoice over thee with joy, with joy
God will rest in his love,
God will joy over thee with singing,
The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty, mighty, mighty
Children's Bible Story
Lectio Conversation (Matt. 10:40-42)
(Hold onto these questions while we read our scripture.)
What stands out to you about this text?
How have you experienced “welcome” or hospitality from others?
“Whoever welcomes you welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. Whoever welcomes a prophet in the name of a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward; and whoever welcomes a righteous person in the name of a righteous person will receive the reward of the righteous; and whoever gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones in the name of a disciple—truly I tell you, none of these will lose their reward.”

Homily
Praise to the Lord
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Praise to the Lord
The Almighty, the King of Creation
O my soul praise you
For thou art my health and salvation
All you who hear
Now to thy temple draw near
Joining in glad adoration
Praise to the Lord
Who o’er all things so wondrously reigneth
Shelters you under spread wing
And so gently sustaineth
Have you not seen
How your desires e’er have been
Granted in what God ordaineth
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Praise to the Lord
Oh let all that is in me adore thee
All that has life and breath
Come now with praises before thee
Let the amen
Sound from God’s people again
Gladly forever adore thee
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Prayers of the People
Now is the time when we share the prayers on our hearts and minds. If you have a private prayer, you can email them to us throughout the week and the pastoral team will pray over them.
If you have a prayer, please unmute your mic to share.
After each prayer, I will lead our response on mute:
Lord in your mercy // hear our prayers
Now I will offer a prayer for the greater community and world. We will end by saying the Lord’s Prayer together in whatever language you prefer. Let us pray.
(muted)
Leader: Just as God/Christ taught us to pray...
All: Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever, Amen.

God of provision, we thank you for the opportunities we have to participate in your work in the world. We offer up to you the gifts of our prayers, our presence in gatherings like this one, our financial resources, our time and energy in service to you and to others. Bless these efforts, multiply them, so that all our neighbors would know the depths of your love for them. Amen.
Standing on the Promises
Standing on the promises of Christ my king
Through eternal ages let his praises ring
Glory in the highest I will shout and sing
Standing on the promises of God
Chorus:
Standing, standing
Standing on the promises of God my Savior
Standing, standing
I’m standing on the promises of God
Standing on the promises that cannot fail
When the howling storms of doubt and fears assail
By the living Word of God I shall prevail
Standing on the promises of God
Chorus
Standing on the promises of Christ the Lord
Bound to him eternally by love’s strong cord
Overcoming daily with the Spirit’s sword
Standing on the promises of God
Chorus
Standing on the promises I cannot fall
Listening every moment to the Spirit’s call
Resting in my savior as my all in all
Standing on the promises of God
Chorus
Sending/Blessing (from Psalm 139:13-15)
(Remain muted and read liturgy aloud at home)
As we close this time together, let us read this word from the psalmist:
All: It was you who formed my inward parts; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; that I know very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth.
Leader: The steadfast love of God goes with you, the deep and abiding peace of Christ goes with you, and the comfort and guidance of the Holy Spirit goes with you, now and always. Amen.
