Worship Outline:
Facing God/Call to Worship
From Psalm 95
One: O come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!
All: Let us come into God's presence with thanksgiving; for the Lord is a great God.
One: In God's hands are the depths of the earth; the heights of the mountains are God's also. The sea is the Lord's, for God made it, and the dry land, which God's hands formed.
All: O come, let us worship the Lord, our Maker; for God is our God, and we are the people of God's pasture, the sheep of God's hand.
Prayer of Confession & Assurance
Merciful God, we have not loved you with our whole heart. We have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. Forgive what we have been, help us amend what we are, and direct what we shall be. Christ have mercy, Lord have mercy, on us. Amen.
One: The Good News is that Christ has come and Christ will come again.
All: In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven. Thanks be to God.
Story for Kiddos
John 9:1-3; 24-34
As he walked along, he saw a man blind from birth. His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned; he was born blind so that God’s works might be revealed in him. So for the second time they called the man who had been blind, and they said to him, “Give glory to God! We know that this man is a sinner.” He answered, “I do not know whether he is a sinner. One thing I do know, that though I was blind, now I see.” They said to him, “What did he do to you? How did he open your eyes?” He answered them, “I have told you already, and you would not listen. Why do you want to hear it again? Do you also want to become his disciples?” Then they reviled him, saying, “You are his disciple, but we are disciples of Moses. We know that God has spoken to Moses, but as for this man, we do not know where he comes from.” The man answered, “Here is an astonishing thing! You do not know where he comes from, and yet he opened my eyes. We know that God does not listen to sinners, but he does listen to one who worships him and obeys his will. Never since the world began has it been heard that anyone opened the eyes of a person born blind. If this man were not from God, he could do nothing.” They answered him, “You were born entirely in sins, and are you trying to teach us?” And they drove him out.

Prayers of the People
Lord in your mercy // hear our prayers
ending in the Lord's Prayer
Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever, Amen.
Communion
Invitation:
Amidst great uncertainty and fear, Jesus gathered his friends together for a meal that would become for countless saints of the faith a way to experience and remember his eternal grace and love.
Jesus said, come to me, all you that are weary and carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
[You are invited to use whatever elements you have on hand--any beverage, any food]

God of provision, we thank you for the opportunities we have to participate in your work in the world. We offer up to you the gifts of our prayers, our presence in gatherings like this one, our financial resources, our time and energy in service to you and to others. Bless these efforts, multiply them, so that all our neighbors would know the depths of your love for them. Amen.
Sending & Blessing
From Ephesians 5
Live as children of the light--for the fruit of the light is found in all that is good and right and true. Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them. Be careful how you live, not as unwise people but as wise, making the most of the time, because the days are evil. Give thanks to God at all times and for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The steadfast love of God goes with you, the deep and abiding peace of Christ goes with you, and the comfort and guidance of the Holy Spirit goes with you, now and always. Amen.
