Presenting the Beacon Volunteer Corps!

Beacon is looking for young people (ages 13-18), who are looking to build job skills, make connections, experience and participate in meaningful work, invest in their community, volunteer their time, and be a part of the backbone of Beacon’s school year programming.

Members of the Studio Volunteer corps will be trained in job skill and nonprofit basics (CPR, crisis management, office tasks, conflict resolution, etc) by staff within and from beyond Beacon.  They will meet once monthly, on Monday afternoons as a group, as well as volunteering once a week from 3:30-6:15pm, at either the Tuesday or Wednesday after school programs, Story and Art Studio.  This group will gain the skills to work well together, focus and prioritize tasks, and, most importantly, try on and practice a community leadership role.
